CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Aulerci Diablintes. Circa 100-50 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 6.30 g, 6 h). Celticized head with curly hair to right. Rev. Celticized biga right, charioteer devolved into creature above, horse with human head; ‘vexillum’ to right; below, fallen male holding torso or vase. Depeyrot 161. D&T 2170. LT 6493. Very rare, Depeyrot records only 26 examples of which 20 are in Museums. Nicely toned and well struck. The obverse slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
